Hello friends, Let's talk about peace.

"PEACE...

It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart" - Anon

This has been a crazy year and as we enter the winter months, I find myself walking around within a collective cloud of energetic uncertainty. There is a heaviness, a cloud of strange anticipation, a feeling of teetering on the edge of the unknown and I saw it best (as I often do) reflected in one of my boys.

We had an announcement at school last week that a child in my son's year had tested positive for Covid 19 and following government guidelines, a whole bunch of children were ushered home for isolation. My little boy was one of 10 who remained in school out of his whole school year. Now, this is the important bit. When I turned up to school, I saw him, tense and eager to be with me. He looked like he was holding his breath and was about to burst. Sure enough, he began walking to me and burst into tears. The weight of the world on his little shoulders. In the moment, I realised how many of us are living on a day to day basis holding our breath.

Each day, I have more and more enquiries from people who are holding their breath, teetering on the edge, who are smiling through the day whilst holding back fear, frustration and my heart goes out to those who cannot collapse in their mothers arms, for those who cannot be rescued from the noise and the trouble.

With so much uncertainty, one thing I do know for sure, is that life is going on and that we must not forget that. I know that this strange blip in time will continue for a little while longer so it has never been more important to find peace.

As it gets darker and the days get shorter, it is already a challenging time to find the light in the darkness and so we need a plan. And I'm really good at plans. Take a deep breath my friend, I've got you.

This is what we are going to do.

We are going to breathe.

Deep, restful breaths.

And we are going to shift, shift out of the noise and into joy and peace.

We are going to remember that we are built of stronger stuff and that we are loved and divinely supported at all times.

We are going to get hugs wherever we can. From lovers, from husbands, wives, children, even pets, soft toys and snuggly coats count as good cuddle-ers.

We are going to burn candles and bring some winter hygge in to our homes, creating a sanctuary for ourselves.

We are going to get out of the loungewear and into our "best" clothes. The ones we think no one will ever see again but that fill our hearts with so much joy they are full to bursting.

We are going to get outside, remembering there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! Get on a rain mac, your muddy wellies, hat and gloves and get ready for some serious puddle jumping.

We are going to play music loudly and sing even louder, knowing that we will always have songs in our hearts.

We are going to dance, and stretch and yoga and get back into those pre-lockdown jeans.

We are going to nail this. We are going to badass the heck out of the rest of this year knowing that we are not beaten, that we are strong, that we have nothing to fear.

We are going to do tapping and meditating and bring ourselves out of fear and into peace.

And finally, we are going to remember we are all in this together and that someone somewhere has your back.

Find the peace in the noise, the light in the darkness and breathe my friend. I've got you.

With love always,

Me x
